Sue was born in Peterborough in 1962 and lives in the Cambridgeshire Fens. She works as a Calligrapher and is a Fellow of the Society of Scribes and Illuminators. She has been painting for several years and is inspired by the natural world, especially the beautiful details of colour, texture and pattern which often go unnoticed. Last summer, when surgery prevented her from using her right hand for several months, a new freer style of work emerged using her left hand. She found this both liberating and exciting and intends to pursue this further.
