Jean Harlow lives near Pickering in North Yorkshire, England. She has always had a keen interest in natural history, travelling and art. From a young age she was fascinated by the mammals of Africa and the tropical rainforest environment.

Jean initially studied Environmental Science and Conservation before training as a primary school teacher. She has been a member of field study expeditions to the Amazon rainforest, Borneo and to the dry tropical forests of Western Mexico.

Jean is currently a full-time student of Fine Art (BA Hons) at Yorkshire Coast College in Scarborough. She has just completed her second year.
