Since studying at the Glasgow School of Art Robina Yasmin has established herself as a highly collectable artist of zebras giraffes and beach scenes. The calm and sensitive temperament of zebras and giraffes are rendered beautifully in oil paint defining the detail and softness of those wonderful creatures. The unusual perspectives and physical closeness in which they are depicted is both playful and intimate. Her beach scene paintings evoke those childhood memories that we all hold dear. Those wonderful innocent moments and the sense of freedom being on holiday give us is captured in the form of cleverly composed diptychs and triptychs. Though much of the subject matter remains constant, Robina experiments with continual exploration of composition, form tone and light. For it is light that inspires her the most, allowing for contrasting areas of paint that ultimately enhances the subject.
