'It is difficult to intensely observe another creature without some self-reflection, some enlightenment and an awareness of the fragility at the core of our existence. My recent work in red clay is focused on primates and attempts to capture nuance of expression and emotion and engage us in sympathetic recognition of our humanity.'

Nichola trained at Leeds Jacob Kramer, Exeter University and finally Cardiff College of Art and Design. She has exhibited widely and is collected enthusiastically by many who appreciate her exceptional natural ability and technical skill coupled with sensitivity and awareness of her subject.
