Darren Rees was born in 1961 and is a self-taught artist. His work has attracted many awards including Bird Watch Artist of the Year amongst others. His first solo book Bird Impressions was greeted by much critical acclaim and was a runner up in the Natural History Book of the Year Award.

Darren is a member of the Society of Wildlife Artists and he has been a contributing artist to The Artists for Nature Foundation/WWF projects in Holland, Poland, Peru and Ecuador. He has held varied painting workshops. He is a knowledgeable naturalist and travels extensively, leading wildlife holidays to Europe and the Americas.
